7 day setup guide

Start here

S200Dashboards.io runs locally against your own Sage 200 Evolution SQL data. The account owner starts the 7 day trial, then the software is installed on the Windows machine or RDS host that can reach SQL Server.

1 Sign up for the 7 day trial - Only one person per organisation needs to do this

Create the owner account on the website. The owner receives a welcome email and can invite the people who need their own licence user.

2 Choose where people will run S200Dashboards.io

The installer needs admin-level permission where Windows requires it. The app itself runs locally for each Windows user after installation.

Remote Desktop / Terminal Server

Install once on the RDS server with admin rights. The application is available to users on that server, but settings remain per Windows user profile.

Download Windows installer
Individual PCs

Install on each PC that will run the dashboards. Each person signs in with their own S200Dashboards.io user.

Download Windows installer
Combination

Install once on the RDS server and also on any standalone PCs that have local access to Sage SQL.

Download Notice

The installer is digitally signed by Crest Software Solutions Pty Ltd. New signed applications may still show a browser or Windows reputation warning until download reputation builds. You may also need to bypass any quarantine notice. The application is not in any way malicious and is a genuine working tool for Sage 200 Evolution users.

3 Create the read-only SQL login

In SQL Server Management Studio, create a login such as

Evoreader

and map it to the company database and tick

db_datareader

and

public

Do not use SQL sa or an administrator account.

Note - Windows Authentication is also an option and therefore does not need the above user created if you wish to use this.

4 Configure the local settings

Open the app, sign in, then enter the SQL Server, database, Sage version, inventory cost mode, target GP%, order-status exclusions, hidden dashboards and refresh interval.

Some settings such as default warehouse and excluded order statuses will need to be selected once you have saved the SQL connection so you will need to return to the settings page in order to select/exclude them if you require this.

5 Invite other users

The main account owner invites other users via their account login. They accept, set a password, then use those credentials to run the S200Dashboards application and set their own settings.

6 Subscribe if it adds value

Subscribe to the product if you feel it will add value to your business.

Important: S200Dashboards.io binds its local web interface to localhost only. It chooses an available local port automatically and opens the dashboard in the user's browser. It does not expose the dashboard to the network. Each real person needs their own licence user.

Setting Default Dashboards

The Main Account/Owner can log in to their account page on the website and now set the default dashboards that invited users are allowed to view and once they accept their invite the main account/owner can tweak the dashboards that they can see if required. Make sure you click on the Save button. Users are still able to hide and un-hide dashboards but only from their allowed list.
